It is time to explore another hidden gem of Oman. This time we are heading to Wadi Al Nakhar for an unforgettable experience back to life in its simplicity with candle lit guest house and amazing views of Jabal Shams, the highest mountain in the Hajar mountains range.
Under the highest mountain of Oman you will find the most amazing canyon of this country – Wadi Al Nakhr. The surrounding walls are over 1000–1500 meters above the bottom of the canyon. the view from the canyon is truly breathtaking. Disconnect from city hustle and bustle away from wifi and noise to immerse yourself in a detox natural experience. Enjoy nature hiking to a pool and overnight at guest house Glamping under the stars or staying indoors at the canyon guesthouse. Enjoy a candle lit dinner with a group of nomads and live the old authentic Omani lifestyle for one full day.

Day One : We will leave Dubai early morning aiming to reach the start of the off road track of the canyon where we will be welcomed by Omani 4×4 cars to transport us to the guesthouse where we will start our balcony hike to a natural pool. The whole hike will take around 4 hours with breaks. You have the option to swim in the pool and take amazing photos. Then we will return back to the guesthouse to enjoy a hearty dinner with candle lights. You could opt to camp under the starts if you bring your own tent or sleep in the old Omani house and get a feel of how the Omanis lived long time ago. We will spend some time star gazing and enjoying night stories in a beautiful terrace around the bonfire. Overnight in an old house.

Day two Sunday: We will wake up to have an Omani breakfast and then head for a second Intermediate level hike to the Emerald pool and to visit a cave in the canyon. Then we will head back to the guesthouse to join the 4x4s to get back to our cars at the start of the canyon off road.
We will then head to Welayat Al Hamra for lunch (not included) and then head for a walk and a drink in a café in Misfat Alebryeen , a picturesque mountain village with beautiful views of Palm tree Farms and authentic Omani Falaj systems.

 

  • First Aid Trained Omani Guide
  • Accomodation in an old Omani house with toilets in a twin sharing basis with (single occupancy supplement of AED 150 is available)
  • 4×4 off road transportation from the start of the wadi to the guest house and return trip.
  • Dinner in Day one and breakfast in day two.
  • Two beginner level hikes in Wadi Al Nakhar.

  • Transportation from Dubai to Oman though Carpooling could be arranged based on the number of participating cars.
  • UAE exit fee of 35 AED paid the border crossing.
  • Lunch and drinks in Day two.

Note: U.A.E residents will get visa on arrival for free at the border crossing, some nationalities might be charged AED 50 Omani visa fee.
